Mid term Retreat

Dates 19 - 20 march 2026
Location Hotel de Bosrand, Ede
ECTS 0,6

While the first-year retreat focusses on what to expect during the PhD journey and how to steer clear of major pitfalls. This retreat invites you to hit pause, look back, and explore how things are going  and how things can be improved when you feel the hand break is on. You will focus on moving forward with confidence and discover new ways how to accomplish this.

To support you in this process, you’ll take part in a series of dynamic, hands-on workshops, including “Communication (with your Supervisor)” , Profiling and Networking ”, Planning and “Strengthening your resilience”.

A key theme of the retreat is the question: “Am I on schedule?” We’ll dive into this together and explore how to catch up if you’ve fallen behind, how to stay motivated if you’re on track, and how to create a realistic, inspiring plan of action for the second half of your PhD. Along the way, we’ll highlight the power of networking and peer coaching as essential tools for thriving, not just surviving.

Above all, this retreat is a chance to reconnect with fellow PhDs, share experiences, exchange practical solutions, and recharge your sense of direction and community!
