Hello Postdocs!

My name is Akbar, and I’m excited to step into the role of PE&RC postdoc representative. I’m a postdoctoral researcher at Wageningen University and Research, at the One Health Entomology department of the Plant Sciences chair group (PSG-ENT) where I study how pesticides shape mosquito distribution and vector-borne disease dynamics under the FOSTA project.

I helped pioneer the Wageningen Postdoc Council, which brings postdocs together through monthly borrels and other initiatives to build the postdoc community and strengthen our voice within the university. We also work closely with Wageningen Graduate School (WGS) to raise concerns and work towards solutions together.

As your PE&RC rep, I hope to continue this spirit of connection and advocacy—supporting your needs, sharing opportunities, and making sure our perspectives are represented.
