PE&RC Institutional collaboration grant

The PE&RC Institutional Collaboration Call is a call for short-term PhD and postdoc projects (several months). It is meant to stimulate collaboration between PE&RC members of Wageningen University and those from other institutes. Applications must be submitted by at least two PE&RC registered staff members from at least two PE&RC institutes from  which one has to be from Wageningen University. The call is open from June 2025 with a deadline of September 8, 2025. Winners are announced during the PE&RC Day on the 9th of October. Find more info here

PE&RC Visiting Scientist Grant 

The PE&RC visiting scientist grant is meant to finance the hosting of an international scientist from abroad to visit a PE&RC group for a period of up to 6 months (e.g. as part of a sabbatical). The objective of the grant is to stimulate scientific quality of research within PE&RC and strengthen international relations and collaboration. The focus is on new initiatives that have the potential to develop into long(er) term collaboration. Dutch scientists, employed abroad and who pay taxes in that country, are also eligible. Joint applications of Wageningen University groups with one or more other PE&RC member institutes (Wageningen Research, NIOO, UU, UVA, VU, RU) are possible, and even encouraged. Do note that in this situation the first applicant must be a WU PE&RC staff member and that, when granted, the funding will be arranged via the chair group of this staff member. Find more info here. The call is expected to be published at the end of Q1 every year. The deadline for 2025 has been passed and the avalilable budget was fully used.

Wageningen Graduate Schools (WGS) Postdoc Talent Programme

Call for proposals The Postdoc Talent Programme offers talented researchers from abroad the opportunity to start a career at Wageningen University & Research. Applications should demonstrate the added value of the grant for the applicant’s career and the value of the applicant’s expertise for Wageningen UR. Talented eligible researchers can apply for a two-year position within one of the Wageningen University research groups. Find more info here

 

The Dutch Research Council (NWO) is one of the most important science funding bodies in the Netherlands and realises quality and innovation in science. Most relevant calls are Open Competition programme (S, M and XL), NWO Talent programme (Veni, Vidi, Vici and Rubicon), Collaboration with knowledge users and society. Find more info here

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) is the forum, the voice and the conscience of science in the Netherlands. KNAW supports excellent and promising researchers and puts them in the spotlight by awarding funds and prizes. Find more info here

 

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation. Following the Multiannual Financial Framework Midterm Review (MTR) decision, the indicative funding amount for Horizon Europe for the period 2021-2027 is EUR 93.5 billion. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions fund excellent research and innovation and equip researchers at all stages of their career with new knowledge and skills, through mobility across borders and exposure to different sectors and disciplines. The MSCA help build Europe’s capacity for research and innovation by investing in the long-term careers of excellent researchers. The MSCA also fund the development of excellent doctoral and postdoctoral training programmes and collaborative research projects worldwide. By doing so, they achieve a structuring impact on higher education institutions, research centres and non-academic organisations. Find more info here
